There's ample storage space for a weeklong cruise, though we would have liked a few more drawers for storing smaller items. The first one opened late, and despite my order being the first one of the day, it still took more than 20 minutes to be served. When I received it, the bun was soggy, and no garnishes or sauces were offered until I went back to the counter to ask for coleslaw and tartar sauce, neither of which helped the flavor.

On another night, I showed up on time for Family Feud Live in the ship's theater, and it was a standing-room-only situation. The sizes of the performance venues are generally way too small for the number of passengers wishing to watch the shows. On the upper deck is the popular Guy's Burger Joint, which is oddly set a bit farther away from the action on Excel Class ships.

The Havana Zone is located on forward Deck 8 and contains six Cabana Suites along with a variety of staterooms that include Interiors and Oceanviews. The Havana Cabanas have balconies with chairs and hammocks that overlook an open promenade that wraps around the front of the ship. All Havana staterooms have colorful, Cuban-inspired decorative treatments and have exclusive access to a sun deck with an outdoor bar and a small infinity wading pool in a spectacular perch overlooking the sea.

I couldn't make it to Chef's Table, an exclusive multicourse small-group dining experience that's the most pricey meal on board, either. The space is simply packed with tables — so much so that there were only about two inches between my table and the one next to me, even though I was dining alone. It then took nearly 10 minutes for a waiter to bring me water and another 10 before someone came to take my order. One example is the Dr. Seuss-themed Seuss-a-palooza Parade that makes its way through the Currents zone once per sailing.
Fewer than 10% of cabins on the line's two oldest vessels, Carnival Paradise and Carnival Elation, are balcony cabins. Fully accessible rooms are stair-free, flat-threshold cabins, which offer wider (32-inch) doorways, turning space and bathrooms equipped with grab bars and shower seats. On the Carnival Celebration ship, smoking allowed areas (cigarettes /incl electronic cigarettes) are the Casino (designated areas on Deck 7) and Piano Bar 88 (Deck 6 lobby bar). Smoking (including cigars and tobacco pipes) is allowed on designated outdoor areas on Lido Deck 16 starboard (aft). The biggest suites on Carnival Panorama, the ship's eight Grand Suites, have 345 square feet of interior space, plus an 85-square-foot balcony. Each of the cabins has a safe (located in the closet) with approx dimensions (inches/centimeters) – width (10/25), height (9/23) and depth (8/20).
